After his graduation he went directly to Newton Theological Institution, completing the full course. Among his classmates there were Dr. Luther G. Barrett, the president Of Jackson College, Jackson, Miss, and Dr. Alonzo Bunker, who also gave his life to missionary service. About The Author: Josiah Nelson Cushing (1840-1905), preserved many documents, extensive letter files, and an almost complete set of diaries. He wrote many descriptive articles for the American Baptist Missionary Magazine and for American religious journals. It is largely from these that materials for this account of his life have been drawn. Henry Melville King (1838–1919), was the son of Samuel Hall King and Eliza Shaw, and husband of Susan Ellen Fogg. He was educated at Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine (BA 1859, AM 1862) and the Newton Theological Institution (DD 1877). He was ordained a Baptist minister in 1862, and taught Hebrew at the Newton Theological Institution (1862–63). He served pastorates at the Dudley Street Church, Boston, Massachusetts (1863–82); Emanuel Church, Albany, New York (1882–91); and First Baptist Church, Providence, Rhode Island (1891–1906). They wrote many books which following given that; The Messiah in the Psalms, 1889; Christ and Buddha, with Josiah Nelson, 1907; Sir Henry Vane, Jr., Governor of Massachusetts and Friend of Roger Williams and Rhode Island; Thinking God’s Thoughts After Him: A Retired Man’s Meditations etc.
